Getting Started with Research

The online course combines taught sessions, interactive workshops, breakout discussions and opportunities for one-to-one advice. The course is structured to provide both foundational knowledge and practical guidance.

Topics include:

• Raising awareness of research in health and care

• Working in partnership with service users

• The importance of diversity and inclusion in research

• Accessing and using the evidence base

• An introduction to different research methods and ethics

• Building collaborations and networks

• Considering value and impact of research

• Exploring different ways to get involved

• Applying for research funding such as internships

Participants will also be invited to join a network of healthcare professionals across the South-Central region who share an interest in research, providing opportunities to share ideas, collaborate and gain peer support.
