Title

Optimising UTI Care in Elderly Residents: A Holistic Approach

Summary

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) rank among the most prevalent acute medical conditions among older adults in care homes. This study seeks to devise methods to discern residents who would benefit from antibiotic treatment, thereby enhancing outcomes, diminishing unnecessary hospital admissions, alleviating workload in care homes and primary care, and mitigating selective pressures fueling antimicrobial resistance.
