Title

SPARX-UK: Advancing Adolescent CBT

Summary

Pilot Trial of SPARX-UK: Advancing Computerised CBT for Adolescent Depression"

The SPARX-UK trial focuses on developing precision computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (cCBT) for adolescent depression through a pilot and feasibility randomised controlled trial. SPARX is a CBT-based fantasy game grounded in cognitive restructuring principles. The primary objectives are to assess SPARX's feasibility in specific settings (CAMHS or MHST), determine if supported SPARX enhances adherence and engagement, and estimate the variance of change in PHQ-A to calculate an appropriate sample size for a full definitive trial. This data will inform the feasibility of conducting a future definitive RCT.
