Quality Improvement
What is Quality Improvement?
Quality Improvement (QI) empowers staff, service users, and colleagues to create real, lasting improvements, helping us foster a culture of continuous learning and growth across Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare.
Quality Improvement is one of the approaches for ongoing improvement. Within this, we use the model for improvement which gives us three key questions to ask when planning an improvement
-
What are we trying to achieve/ improve?
-
How will we know an improvement has been achieved?
-
What changes can we make that will lead to improvements?

Typically, quality improvement encompasses a range of methods to support:
-
The identification of areas for improvement in partnership with those that use services.
-
Ideas to try to make improvements, with testing and adaption to ensure effective changes.
-
Systematic measurement of the differences that are being made.
-
Sharing of learning to spread adoption of improvement ideas.

We offer training in the methods and support to carry out improvement projects.
QI Programmes
Our programmes are designed to inspire collaboration between staff, patients, and carers, empowering them to co-create meaningful changes in healthcare services that enhance the overall experience for all who use them.

These programmes equip participants with the skills needed to implement and evaluate improvements, with no prior experience or knowledge of Quality Improvement (QI) required.
