Facilities and infrastructure
We work across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight within Trust-owned buildings and community locations. Our flagship facility is based at Moorgreen, with spoke locations including Portsmouth and the New Forest, and the ability to extend delivery across the Isle of Wight.
Key operational features include backup generators to support site resilience, dedicated space for clinical research associates undertaking on-site monitoring, participant parking, and annually calibrated equipment.
"Combining community reach, specialist expertise and robust infrastructure to deliver high-quality diabetes research at scale."

Laboratory capability
Pre-analytical laboratory processing is delivered by our multidisciplinary team of research nurses, allied healthcare professionals and clinical research practitioners. Staff are IATA accredited, have completed UK CRF laboratory skills training and are signed off by supervisors as safe and competent.
At Moorgreen, our biological processing and storage capability includes four centrifuges, two -80°C freezers, two -20°C freezers, one sample fridge, a laminar flow hood, a temperature-controlled lab and continuous temperature monitoring. We can also collect and process biological material across multiple locations and establish pop-up labs in community settings where required.
Clinical Space
Our clinic rooms support standard research assessments including weight, height, blood pressure and ECG, alongside other study procedures delivered by trained staff in accessible patient-facing environments.

IMP Handling
Our investigational medicinal product infrastructure is integrated into the wider multidisciplinary team to support positive patient experience, rapid study set-up and MHRA-compliant processes.
We offer a range of dispensing methods to meet protocol and sponsor requirements. Research nurses and practitioners work within scope to dispense safely, with support and oversight from our dedicated Clinical Trials Pharmacy team and NHS Trust Medicines Management Team.
Our flagship IMP handling area at Moorgreen includes a temperature-controlled IMP fridge room with several medical-grade refrigerators, a temperature-controlled ambient storage and preparation room, and continuous digital temperature monitoring backed up to a cloud-based alert system. We can prepare injectables, infusions and oral medicines, and can manage blinded dispensing, returns and destruction or sponsor return as appropriate.
The Trust also holds a licence to store schedule 2 to 5 controlled medicines.
Governance and assurance
Study set-up is supported by a local governance team able to expedite arrangements including contracts and capacity and capability processes. We are able to use electronic site files, and a dedicated safety assurance function helps ensure protocol compliance.
