Title

Assessing the Impact of the Cost-of-Living Crisis on Mental Health in Hampshire and Dorset: Identifying Effective Support Pathways

Summary

Our aim is to analyse the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on the mental health of adults in Hampshire and Dorset and identify the best pathways to support those struggling with mental health and financial issues. Using a mixed-methods approach (both quantitative and qualitative), we will:

- Interview staff at local financial advice centres and NHS mental health services for their perspectives.
- Collect survey responses from service users and conduct interviews to understand how financial problems and mental health are linked over time.
- Use existing data from the NHS and other services to examine changes in demand and other outcomes in recent months due to the cost-of-living crisis.
- This comprehensive approach will help us develop effective support strategies for those affected.
